FSRU Toscana: a major project successfully completed

We are pleased to share the successful completion of the project related to the FSRU Toscana terminal, the regasification unit of OLT OFFSHORE LNG TOSCANA. This was a complex and articulated operation carried out between Genoa and Marseille, at the San Giorgio del Porto S.p.A. and Chantier Naval de Marseille shipyards, which once again confirmed their role as key partners in the field of ship repair and conversion.

The operation began in April 2024 in Genoa, with an initial phase dedicated to preparing for the replacement of the main turret bearing, dismantling connected structures and equipment (over 85 tons of materials), as well as conducting inspections and maintenance of the cargo tanks and ballast tanks.

In June, the vessel arrived in Marseille, where it was hosted in dry dock for 119 days, during which key structural and maintenance operations were completed, including:

• Replacement and installation of the new bearing for the turret rotation system of the anchoring system.
• Large-scale sandblasting and repainting treatments (approximately 65,000 m² of surface treated in the ballast tanks).
• Overhauling of 50- and 120-ton winches, with traction tests up to 180 tons.
• Maintenance of the loading arms for LNG transfer from LNG carriers.
• Work on the hull and superstructures, including protection of submerged areas.

The success of this project once again demonstrates the ability of San Giorgio del Porto and Chantier Naval de Marseille shipyards to manage highly complex operations while ensuring quality and adherence to schedules.
